When it comes to caregiving, there’s no substitute for experience. Cindy Brooke, RN, and Clarendale at Indian Lake’s Director of Health Services, has dedicated more than 30 years in nursing and leadership service to seniors in independent living, assisted living and memory care. For residents and families alike, that proven track record offers true peace of mind.

“I’m passionate about helping our residents and making a difference in their lives,” says Brooke. “And I’m delighted to say our entire caregiving staff at Clarendale shares my passion for excellence and high-quality care.”

As Director of Health Services, Brooke is charged with managing and coordinating all aspects of resident health care—in a community that makes a holistic approach to wellness a focus of daily living. That’s a big responsibility, but Brooke has the skills, commitment, resources and tools to manage it.

For example, the Health & Wellness Navigation Program™ at Clarendale makes living life to the fullest easier and more carefree. It provides access to total wellness programming and expert coordination of any health care needed inside or outside the community.

According to Brooke, “Families of residents have the peace of mind that comes with knowing all day-to-day wellness needs and unexpected health emergencies will be met by professionals who know just what to do for their loved one.”

Since total wellness is multidimensional, programming at Clarendale also helps residents explore all 8 dimensions of wellness. In addition to physical wellness and health services, a full monthly calendar of planned community activities focus on social, emotional, intellectual, environmental, vocational and spiritual wellness.

“When it comes to day-to-day living, sometimes all it takes is a little assistance to help residents gain or maintain more independence. We provide that at Clarendale,” Brooke says. “And for individuals with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, we offer Heartfelt CONNECTIONS.”

With Heartfelt CONNECTIONS – A Memory Care Program®, specialized and highly trained caregivers help residents maintain the respect, dignity and quality of life they want and loved ones want for them.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my career involves getting to know each resident—and working with them and their families to develop the ideal care plan,” says Brooke. “My goal is to help residents live their best life. Seeing them happy and fulfilled is one of the best perks of the job.”

In addition to her three decades of on-the-job experience, Brooke holds a nursing degree from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Arts from St. Francis University in Joliet, Illinois.
