Clarendale at Indian Lake Receives Choice Community Award by Holleran Consulting

Clarendale at Indian Lake has been recognized for their admirable engagement scores, placing them at the top of the benchmark of senior living communities across the nation.

Clarendale at Indian Lake was awarded Holleran’s Community Choice Award for completion of their 2022 Employee survey. This accolade means we are engaging with our stakeholders at the highest possible levels, placing Clarendale at Indian Lake at the top of the Holleran National Benchmark.  It also demonstrates that we have been recognized as one of the most engaging senior living organizations across the nation. A proprietary algorithm, developed by Holleran’s highly trained statisticians, researchers, and analysts, determines Choice Community Award recipients.

For Clarendale at Indian Lake to earn the Choice Community Award distinction means, “recognition for expanding and enhancing the definition of employee engagement in unprecedented times such as the world-wide health pandemic,” says Executive Director Cindy Ohlmann. “We’re re-imagining what it means to be an employer of choice in especially challenging times.  There is no longer a ‘one size fits all’ way of recruiting, hiring, and retaining great staff.  The definition of meaningful work may vary from person to person.  While most still value competitive pay and benefits, many are now attracted to flexibility in schedules, opportunities for development and growth, and being a part of something bigger than themselves.”

Ohlmann went on to say “Gone are the days where ‘management’ makes all the decisions. Shared leadership and valuing creative contributions across all positions and departments is making a positive difference at Clarendale at Indian Lake. Being intentional about engagement means honoring each employee for their strengths and uniqueness and aligning that with our mission and values. That’s what we’re striving for at Clarendale each day.”

Holleran has the largest benchmark of its kind, measuring both resident and employee engagement in the senior living space. Currently, the benchmark comprises more than 125,000 resident and employee independent living surveys, from nearly 400 organizations across 38 states, all completed within the last three years
